1964 Porsche 356
1. This 1964/1600 c Reutter coupe has a factory completion date of 2/17/1964. It was bought in May 2018 in Colorado as a matching number car - driver quality. It was decided in the fall of 2020 to transform the car into a unique one-of-a-kind modified and improved version of the original with all the engineering improvements baked into the 1964, including disc brakes and suspension improvements.
Following completion of body work, including front clip, door skins and a GT erks center hood fuel filler, car was media blasted and painted with Glasurit paint in Bali Blue, a special-order option for 1964.
Bumpers and rocker panels were removed to further enhance the "clean" look. Vintage Marchal driving lights mounted on vintage Marchal brackets were placed on the front. The headlights sport yellow lenses complimenting the Bali Blue paint. The door pulls are heavy custom made. The Knights of Malta cross covering the torsion bar holes continue the unique look. The BF Goodrich tires are mounted on custom Rudge look-a-likes. A blue-tip Hirschman antenna is on the left fender. The rear of the car has the unique Carrera4 tail pipe sticking out of the middle. The engine lid has been fitted with RS-style hinges in lieu of the stock hinges to facilitate engine work. An after-market switch controls driving lights and USB outlet. Interior, engine compartment and hood are completely done in Boxter red leather. Roll bar is handstitched. Carpet is Porsche Square Weave in blue.
